Feeds
The Developer Feed is fully customizable to display only the apps that are important to you. Choose your own ticker symbols and watch as color coded movements are displayed numerically. Know exactly how your apps are doing with a quick glance from across the room. If you're not a developer, simply delete the default apps from the screensaver's configuration panel and the Developer Feed will be removed.
The Top 25 Feed scrolls the Overall Top 25 Paid and Free (iPhone) lists for the markets (countries) of your choice.
The Trending Feed displays today's hottest apps. Candyticker identifies the fastest upward movers in the last 24 hours and lists them per market. Catch hot trends early or be the first of your friends to download the latest craze.
Finally, the News Feed lets you stay on top of the headlines. Look here to get the drop on rumors, leaks, breaking stories, and important announcements. The News Feed currently uses both MacRumors.com's RSS feed and our own custom Twitter RSS feed (@candyticker).
Notes
Its possible that one or more of the third party RSS feeds used by Candyticker may change over time and break. If this happens, we will do our best to update the screensaver accordingly.
In order to optimize performance, we limited the Developer Feed's reach to the Top 200 of any given category. So if your app isn't currently ranked in the Top 200 of its category (or game subcategory) in a particular market, it will not be listed under that market in the Developer Feed; however, Candyticker will continue to look for it should it eventually appear in that list.
Each time the screensaver launches, Candyticker will display cached data while it actively pulls the latest feeds. To minimize confusion, each feed is preceeded by a timestamp specific to your local time zone.
If you are running an outbound firewall such as Little Snitch, you may need to register the appropriate RSS exceptions prior to launching Candyticker in order for the screensaver to run properly.
If you should have any questions, concerns, or suggestions for Candyticker, please do not hesitate to drop us an email and/or contact us on Twitter (@candywriter).
